Dear Cardiology, P.C. Family,
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cardiology, P.C. physicians and staff are transitioning most of our clinic visits to telemedicine visits. Telemedicine allows an office visit from the comfort and safety of your home, using voice and video chat through your smartphone or home computer with a camera. We believe that during these challenging times, this is the safest way to manage your care and reduce the risk of exposure to you and our staff.
However, if you have any active problems or symptoms which would require an in-person visit such as chest pain, we will see you in the office. We may also determine during your telemedicine visit that you need to be further evaluated in the office and will then schedule an in-office visit. Please know that if you do come into the office for your appointment, we are taking all the precautions we can to keep our environment safe and reduce your risk of exposure. One of these steps includes limiting our waiting areas to patients only unless family is absolutely necessary.
We will be reaching out to our patients in the coming days to transition your appointment from an in-office visit to a telemedicine call where appropriate. If you feel you need to speak to one of our physicians sooner, please call 205-780-4330 and we can schedule an earlier phone call.
The telemedicine calls, in most cases, require video and voice interaction. In the event that you do not have access to a smart phone or a device capable of conducting this distant but face to face interaction, we can discuss other options with you including your ability to come into the office.
As this pandemic is growing and changing, we are trying to make quick adjustments while maintaining the safety and health of our patients and staff. We appreciate the opportunity to continue to care for you and pray for the safety and good health of us all in the coming weeks. If you are experiencing the symptoms of COVID-19, symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please do not come into the office – please call for further instructions.
If coming in for an office visit, please be aware that Baptist Medical Center has also taken steps to minimize exposure for staff and patients that has impacted our workflow. Unfortunately, there is currently no Valet Parking or Escort Services located at the POB complex entrance.
